Los Angeles Angels +105 over Detroit Tigers
We highlight a great pitching matchup for this week’s edition of Marketwatch. Cy Young favorite Justin Verlander leads the Tigers as they travel to Los Angeles (or Anaheim or whatever) to take on Dan Haren and the Angels. While Verlander’s great year (11-3, 2.32 ERA) has been widely publicized, Dan Haren has quietly been having a solid year as well (8-5, 2.85 ERA). The Angels have been playing well as of late going 9-2 in their last 11 games.
The Tigers opened as a -130 favorite at CRIS and are receiving 74% of runline bets and 81% of moneyline bets. Despite all of the public betting on Detroit, the line has dropped to -121 at CRIS, indicating sharp money on the Angels.
