Surprising NFL Inactives and What They Mean to the Line
In a span of about two minutes, two key offensive players were surprisingly declared out for the 1 PM slate.
First, Zach Ertz of the Eagles was ruled out due to a hamstring injury. Ertz, who was the most expensive TE on DraftKings and FanDuel, was fully expected to play, but struggled during warmups. Since pulled hammies are known to linger for weeks, Philly opted not to play him as a big favorite over Brock Osweiler and the Broncos.
At Bookmaker, Philadelphia has gone from -7 (-110) to -6.5 (-110) since the news. The move off of the key number of seven really shows how important he is to the Eagles’ offense. The total has remained at 41.
Jacksonville’s benching of Leonard Fournette is even more surprising.

The Jaguars opened this week at -3.5 and had moved all the way to -6.5 at Bookmaker over the course of the week. With no Fournette, this line has really been on the move. Over the past 15 minutes, the Jaguars fell from -6.5 to -4.5 and have since moved back to -5. Though 4.5 to 5.5 is not the most important range of numbers, the move through six was rather significant. The total has remained at 38, the lowest on the slate.
