March Madness Begins

The Madness has begun.  In case you missed it, here is a Wall Street Journal article that highlights SportsInsights’ research on NCAA Basketball and a contrarian method to betting on March Madness.  Here are some games that fall into this category of value during the Madness:

• Hampton and powerful Duke.  Duke is favored by a big 23.5 points.
• Ohio State is favored by a whopping 24.5 points over Texas San Antonio.
• Kansas is favored by 22.5 points over Boston.

In all of these games, the public is piling on top of the heavy favorite — potentially creating value for the heavy underdogs.
