1. Atlanta Falcons vs. Chicago Bears

The betting public is hammering the Falcons, with 79% of spread bets taking the road favorites. Both CRIS and Pinnacle opened Atlanta as a 1-point favorite in this game, but have moved the line to -2.5 to offset the influx of early public money.

2. Philadelphia Eagles vs. St. Louis Rams

The Eagles have been busy since the lockout ended, adding Nnamdi Asomugha, Jason Babin, Cullen Jenkins, Vince Young, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Ronnie Brown to a roster already loaded with talent.

Philadelphia’s recent acquisitions have increased public interest in this game, as it is currently the second most-heavily bet Week 1 matchup, trailing only New England vs. Miami.

Not surprisingly, with phrases like “Dream Team” being mentioned by multiple sports media outlets, the public is jumping all over the Eagles, with 73% of spread and 71% of moneyline bets taking Philly. As public interest with a favored team increases, so does the line, which opened at -3.5 and currently sits at -5.

3. Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns

With Chad Ochocinco’s trade to New England and Carson Palmer sticking to his retirement guns, Cincinnati is in full rebuilding mode and the public has taken notice. Only 37% of spread bets and 30% of moneyline wagers have taken the Bengals, pushing them from 3-point to 4.5-point underdogs at CRIS and Pinnacle.
