2014 U.S. Open Odds
The 2014 U.S Open, the second golf major of the year, is set to begin on Thursday, June 12 at the No.2 course of the Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina. This will be the 114th playing of the tournament and although the normal buzz around a golf major is lacking due to the absence of Tiger Woods (back injury), there’s still a deep and talented field of players. This major has seen its fair share of longshots winning and below we take a look at the odds at the most recent winners of the U.S. Open:

There’s yet to be any major odds moves on a winner, but Rory McIlroy is the favorite throughout the market, priced around +1000. After his recent split with fiancee and tennis pro Caroline Wozniacki, he won the European PGA Championship and is in good form. Usual powers like Phil Mickelson and Adam Scott are lurking among the top favorites, but it’s up-and-coming Jordan Spieth at +1800 who is currently drawing the highest number of future bets at CRIS. This is consistent with bettors in Vegas, who have been all over Spieth as well:

Spieth is worth watching and could be a household name even to casual golf viewers soon. Despite no Tiger in the field, young talents like Spieth and McIlroy make for some very interesting opening round and tournament matchups to bet:
