NFL Opening Line Report – 9/13/2010

The NFL’s week 1 is not over yet, but we have already taken a look at the opening lines coming in on week 2’s games, with our real-time odds and found some lines that are moving early.

Pittsburgh came away from week 1 with a overtime victory over Atlanta in the first of four games without starting quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, but are a 5.5 point underdog from an opening line of 6 in their week 2 match-up against Tennessee. This game is showing signs of sharp money in the form of reverse line movement, with Tennessee getting 65% of public support in spread bets.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions both lost their starting quarterbacks to injury during week 1, and both still have questions as to who will be starting in week 2. Philadelphia opened up as a 3 point favorite, and with 80% of the public taking them in spread bets, the line has moved up to -3.5.

The public is excited about St. Louis rookie quarterback, Sam Bradford, to the tune of 63% of spread bets in the upcoming match against Oakland according to our betting trends data. The sharp money is looking the other way however, forcing the line on Oakland from -3.5 to -4. With only 367 bets on the game so far, we expect to see some changes and more movement as the week goes on.
