2015 NBA All-Star Weekend Betting
The NBA All-Star weekend begins this Friday night in New York City with the All-Star Celebrity game and the Rising Stars Challenge (formerly the Rookie/Sophomore game). However, most fans won’t start tuning in until the following day when All-Star Saturday night kicks off with the Shooting Stars Challenge, Skills Challenge, Three-Point Contest and the Slam Dunk Competition.

It’s interesting to see that although Kyle Korver is shooting more than eight percent better than any other competitor, it’s Stephen Curry who is listed as the front runner in this competition. It’s also worth nothing that J.J Redick has been dealing with back spasms and may struggle or simply tire quickly.
If you’re looking for value, James Harden seems like a steal at +800 — especially because we already know he has no problem taking a high volume of shots without fading.

This is one of the youngest Slam Dunk Contest fields in recent histories, featuring one rookie (LaVine) and three second-year players. At his rookie combine, Zach LaVine recorded a ridiculous 46-inch vertical jump so perhaps it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the former UCLA Bruin is listed as the favorite. Still, don’t sleep on the man known as the “Greek Freak.”
At 6’11”, Giannis Antetokounmpo lives up to his nickname with freakishly long arms, massive hands and the skill set of a guard. Also noteworthy is that Plumlee does have dunk contest experience after placing second in the McDonald’s High School All-American Dunk Contest.
On Friday afternoon, Bovada finally posted their odds for the Skills Challenge. John Wall would have been the likely favorite, however, he withdrew from the competition and will be replaced by Houston’s Patrick Beverley. Trey Burke, who is the defending champion, opened with the third shortest odds +450.
However, the odds shifted on Thursday evening when it was announced that two of the competitors would the competition. Chicago’s Jimmy Butler, who sat out Thursday’s key game against Cleveland due to a shoulder injury, was replaced by Atlanta’s second year guard Dennis Schroder. Michael Carter-Williams, who is battling a foot injury, was replaced by Orlando’s rookie point guard Elfrid Payton.

This three-round, bracket-style contest focuses on dribbling, passing, agility and shooting skills. Whichever competitor posts the fastest score will advance to the next round.

The All-Star game, which takes place on Sunday night, opened for betting on Friday morning with the Western Conference listed as a 2-point favorite at Pinnacle (O/U 295). In early betting, the West is receiving 63% of spread bets which has moved the line to -2.5 at the time of publication. However, it’s actually an Eastern Conference player who owns the shortest odds to be named All-Star MVP:
