2015 College Football: Week 4 Opening Line Report
Below we’ll take a look at some of the more intriguing opening lines for Week 4 of the 2015 College Football season.
Cincinnati at Memphis: Memphis opened -4.5 at BetOnline but quickly moved to -7 for the Thursday night game vs. Cincinnati behind nearly 70% of spread bets. As of Monday morning Memphis had moved to -9. Cincy QB Gunner Kiel is questionable with a head injury but line movement suggest he’s doubtful. This is a key game for the AAC title as Cincy was the preseason conference favorite at +225 but have already lost a conference game to Temple. Memphis was just behind them at +275 and a win would put them in the driver’s seat.
UCLA at Arizona: UCLA opened -4.5 at BetOnline but moved to -3. Spread wagers are currently 55/45 in favor of Arizona and we expect this to be one of the most bet games of the weekend. Arizona could be getting a big boost with the return of linebacker Scooby Wright.
Tennessee at Florida: The preseason lookahead lines had this one at Tennessee -4 (via 5Dimes) but the Gators’ impressive start makes them 2-point favorites. Over 70% of early bets are coming in on the visiting Volunteers so this line could easily move to a pick ’em during the week.
Utah at Oregon: Starting QBs for both Utah (Travis Wilson) and Oregon (Vernon Adams) have been upgraded to probable but there’s currently still no line available. However, the lookahead line listed Oregon -14 back in June so it will be interesting to see how far off that is. If both QBs do in fact play, then Oregon will be at least double-digit favorites. If Wilson can’t go for Utah, then this line could open above -14.
