With so many games every week, there’s bound to be entertaining finishes and this week Miami-FL vs. Duke stole the show. The Hurricanes pulled off the most improbable victory, returning a kick via multiple laterals to beat Duke 30-27 with no time remaining. Here’s the radio call from the Hurricanes side of things:

-Despite some high scores, Unders actually went 29-24 overall this week.
-Of the 137 NCAAF games with a total below 40 points, 25 have involved either Boston College or Virginia Tech (since 2005). Saturday’s matchup between the two teams was set at 37.5 and unsurprisingly the game went under the total, ending 26-10 Va Tech.
-With their 61-55 win in 3 overtimes Thursday night, Oregon has now covered all 3 games as dogs this year and 6 straight going back to 2009.
-Based on Pinnacle’s closing line of +25.5 which we use in our Bet Labs database, Old Dominion became the last FBS team this year to cover a game ATS. They lost 55-30 to WKU.
-Navy QB Keenan Reynolds tied Montee Ball with his 77th career rushing TD in the 4th quarter. The TD run came on 4th and goal to put Navy ahead 29-17, giving them the improbable late cover (opened -10 and closed -6 on the spread).
-UConn and Iowa joined Bowling Green and Southern Miss as the only teams to go over their Season Win Totals so far this year.
-Following their 58-7 home loss to Air Force, Hawaii fired head coach Norm Chow. Word around the program is that the team is struggling financially and could possibly even fold.
Major Injuries: The off week is when players seem to find trouble and this time it’s Ohio State QB JT Barrett, who was arrested early Saturday morning. He has been suspended for next week’s game against Minnesota, but QB Cardale Jones will step right in.
Missouri QB Maty Mauk has been suspended for the remainder of the season and has not played since September.
Heisman Watch: LSU RB Leonard Fournette was only held in check this week because LSU didn’t play. TCU QB Trevone Boykin made the biggest statement as he led the Frogs to a big 40-10 win on Thursday night and compiled 5 total TDs on 388 passing yards and 84 rushing yards. Boykin was available early in the week with +750 odds but will definitely be lower heading into Week 10.
