Kansas State vs. Nebraska

There are several weekday games this week, before Saturday’s barrage of college football games.  This match-up is getting the most betting activity of the weekday games.  And, for contrarian sports investors, the betting is very lopsided, with home team Kansas State only collecting 25% of the bets at the time of this blog post.  Keep an eye on this game for a potential “betting against the Public” play.  The constant betting on Nebraska has created some line movement, with the early line increasing from Kansas State +10.5 to +12.

South Carolina vs. Alabama

Alabama continues to roll as the #1 team in the nation.  Being number one gets you heavy media attention — and oftentimes, heavy betting activity from the general betting public.  South Carolina, at home, should be a good test.  However, there is strong betting activity on #1 Alabama, with the public viewing 7 points as too little.  Interestingly, some early sharps pushed the line down from the opener of South Carolina +8 down to +7.  Contrarian sports investors will look to tail the sharps and will be taking a serious look at SC.
