The opening lines are out for this coming week’s college football games, and depending on what sportsbook you use, you may want to check out the current line movement and the latest lines – based on our Opening Line Report below. Please visit our blog and read our series of Sports Marketwatch articles for updated information during the week.
Washington U vs. Oregon
Early betting has been heavy on Oregon, the current consensus #1 in the nation. A huge 85% of the bets are taking Oregon, moving the line a huge 8 points (!!) from its opener of Oregon -27. Keep an eye on this game for some betting line value as bettors continue to pound bets down on #1 Oregon.
Team | # Bets | Spread % | Open | Current |
Washington U | 3052 | 85% | +27 | +35 |
Oregon | 15% | -27 | -35 |
Hawaii vs. Boise State
This is currently the heaviest-bet game in early college football action. Boise State is in the hunt for the national title, but is currently “on the outside, looking in” — with a BCS ranking of #4. Can Boise State run the score up – at home – against a solid Hawaii squad? Bets are fairly evenly split, but some early sharp money has taken Hawaii, with the line declining slightly. Interestingly, some “public books” remain at Boise State -21.5.
Team | # Bets | Spread % | Open | Current |
Hawaii | 4000 | 48% | +23.5 | +21 |
Boise State | 52% | -23.5 | -21 |
