Weekend Sports Update
11/12/2011
it’s time for our weekly sports roundup – of the sports betting marketplace on a busy Saturday. With the college basketball season tipping off, keep an eye out for this year’s research article – that includes betting percentage information as well as how getting more points (point spreads!) impact winning percentages.
In today’s college football activity:
- The Penn State-Nebraska game continues to be the heaviest-bet game of the day, by far, as highlighted by an earlier blog post this week. Games with heavy public activity sometimes offer contrarian value for sharp bettors.
- The Tennessee U – Arkansas game is currently the most lopsided-bet game of the day, with just 11% of the bets taking the visiting Tennessee underdogs.
In college hoops, yesterday (Friday) had a huge number of games scheduled. Today, there are fewer games, but here’s a game that our analysts have circled:
- Fordham is a huge underdog against powerhouse Syracuse.
