Over the last few weeks, the odds have moved big in McGregor’s favor, down to +325 at Bovada and even +335 at Bookmaker. More than 80% of tickets have come in on McGregor at Bookmaker and 95% (!) at William Hill US. CGTech has also seen 92% of their tickets on McGregor.

The incredible line movement has put sportsbooks in a never before spot. Jay Rood, VP of MGM Resorts compares it to “hanging -3 on the Super Bowl and seeing the line move to -8.”

This has been consistent from the start as over 90% of early tickets were also coming in on McGregor. This isn’t all that surprising considering the reluctance of recreational bettors to lay moneyline odds in such a high range, but bigger bets have come in on Mayweather.

On Aug. 20, Floyd was available at -445 at Bookmaker, but over the last few days it has become evident that sharp bettors sensed that it was their time strike. There has been significant buyback around the market and as of Aug. 24, Mayweather’s odds have moved back to -650.

If you don’t want to bet on the fight, there are plenty of interesting prop bets to monitor here.

Obvious reminder that this fight is a boxing match and not an MMA match.

Original note when article was first published: Those interested in betting on this fight should be sure to read the fine print as sportsbooks have strict rules regarding date deadlines, sanctioning bodies, boxing vs. MMA rules, etc.
