2017-18 Premier League Title Odds
The 2016-17 Premier League season ended with Chelsea winning the title, and sportsbooks wasted no time looking ahead to 2017-18. Pinnacle was the first book to post title odds and Chelsea did NOT open as favorites to repeat as champs. That honor belonged to Manchester City who started the best odds to win the title at +240, and so far it looks like the market was correct.

Man City and Man Utd are tied at the top of the league with 16 points apiece, followed by Chelsea (13), Tottenham (11), Liverpool (11), Watford (11), and Arsenal (10). It’s all but certain that one of the preseason favorites will take home the title, but we’ve still got a long ways to go. Man City are now the odds-on favorites at -115 to win while Man Utd are +275.

Six teams opened with odds of +1300 or better, but next on the list is Everton at +6000 odds. Huddersfield have the worst odds at +200000 but those are still better than Leicester City in 2015-16 (+500000) when they pulled off the miracle. Newcastle is back in the Premier League after winning the Championship (division right below the EPL) and are 550:1 to claim the title, better odds than nearly half the league.

06/22/2017 at 7:11 pmMan City already splashing the cash around. Will be interesting to see if they can land Dani Alvez over Chelsea. I really think it comes down to if Pep can continue to adapt to the Premier League style of play. I personally believe that Conte’s style will prevail over the course of the entire season. However, I am biased being a Liverpool supporter. Still chaps me over the whole Sterling dealing.
