2012 AFC Championship: Does the Public Like New England or Baltimore?

As we noted in our NFL Conference Championship Opening Line Report, early public money jumped on New England and we’ve seen that trend continue throughout the week.
Sports Insights’ NFL Betting Trends data shows the Patriots are currently receiving 61% of spread bets for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Ravens.
Since 61% of public bettors are willing to lay 7 to 7.5 points with the Patriots, it’s safe to assume an even larger percentage is, at the very least, expecting a straight up victory for New England.
