2014 US Open Tennis Championship Odds

The 134th edition of the US Open will take place from August 25th to September 8th in New York City at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Last year Rafael Nadal defeated Novak Djokovic in the Men’s Singles Final while Serena Williams defeated Victori Azarenka in the Women’s Singles Final.

You can view the past five winners in the table below along with their pre-tournament odds (via SportsOddsHistory.com):

Despite winning the 2013 US Open, Rafael Nadal (+600) had just the third best odds of repeating in 2014 and trailed 2011 champion Novak Djokovic (+135) and 2012 champion Andy Murray (+350). However, Nadal has just withdrawn from the major due to a wrist injury and below are the updated odds at BetOnline.

On the Women’s side, Serena Williams will be looking for a three-peat (please don’t sue us Pat Riley) this year and is listed as the favorite at +125. Although these are very short odds, Williams was actually an even bigger favorite in 2012 (-105) and 2013 (-120). Samantha Stosur, who won the US Open back in 2011, is a bit of a long-shot to win at +5000.
