2016 NFL Betting: Which Kicker Will Lead the League in Points?
He may not be a household name, but Stephen Gostkowski has arguably been the league’s most dominant player at his position. Last season, the Patriots kicked nailed 33 of 36 field goals while knocking home all 52 extra point attempts. His 151 kicking points led the league, but that’s hardly new for Gostkowski. In fact, the 32-year old Memphis alum has tallied the most kicking points in each of the last four seasons.
Earlier this month 5Dimes posted odds for the 2016 league leader in kicking points and, to nobody’s surprise, Gostkowski (+400) was once again listed as the favorite. Panthers kicker Graham Gano and Steelers kicker Chris Boswell opened with the second-shortest odds at +550. Boswell’s odds are fairly surprising since the Steelers are expected to attempt the two-point conversion with some regularity.
The table below displays the current odds at 5Dimes.
Kicker | 5Dimes (8/12) |
---|---|
Stephen Gostkowski | +400 |
Graham Gano | +550 |
Chris Boswell | +550 |
Justin Tucker | +600 |
Steven Hauschka | +700 |
Chandler Catanzaro | +800 |
Mason Crosby | +1000 |
Dan Bailey | +1600 |
Josh Brown | +1600 |
Matt Bryant | +2000 |
Blair Walsh | +2000 |
Cairo Santos | +2500 |
Adam Vinatieri | +2800 |
Nick Novak | +3300 |
Jason Myers | +3300 |
Brandon McManus | +3300 |
Dustin Hopkins | +4000 |
Dan Carpenter | +5000 |
I won’t be betting this prop bet, but I do like Mason Crosby at +1000. The Packers are expected to have one of the highest-scoring offenses in the league, and Crosby figures to be a major beneficiary.
