Alabama and Florida State opened with the best odds to win the 2017-18 NCAAF Title at Westgate, with Alabama listed at +300 and Florida State at +800. Last season FSU suffered an early season defeat to Louisville and could never fully recover, losing home games to UNC and Clemson afterwards. Alabama went through the season undefeated before losing to Clemson in the title game.
Both Alabama and Florida State were popular picks to win the title last season and will be once again next season. As long as Nick Saban is head coach at Alabama, they don’t seem to be slipping up anytime soon. Florida State will return QB Deondre Francois despite losing RB Dalvin Cook to the NFL Draft, and the Seminoles are always loaded with talent at the skilled positions.
