2017 NBA Futures and Most Likely Finals Matchups
Beginning this weekend, sixteen NBA teams will take the court with one goal in mind; hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy as the league champion. There’s no doubt that all eyes will be focused intently on the Golden State Warriors, who enter the playoffs as the odds-on favorite to win the title. In fact, 5Dimes currently lists the Warriors at -170 to win the championship, with the field listed at +150. Based on those odds, Golden State has better than a 60% implied probability of winning the championship.
Not interested in betting the Warriors versus the field? Earlier this morning 5Dimes updated their championship odds for all sixteen team along with odds to win the Eastern Conference, Western Conference, and the exact NBA Finals matchup. Last week, the Cleveland Cavaliers (-285) actually had better odds of winning their conference than the Warriors (-270), but that all changed when Cleveland opted to rest their starters down the stretch and lost home-court throughout the playoffs.

Finals Matchup
Oddsmakers are anticipating a rematch of last year’s NBA Finals with the odds of a Cleveland/Golden State matchup listed at -150. It’s also interesting (although not surprising) that the second-seeded Spurs (+500) have better odds of making the finals than the top-seeded Celtics.
