It’s Chilly In Boston, But It’s Steamy at the Garden
Tonight, the Timberwolves visit the TD Garden in Boston to take on the Celtics. At tip-off, wind chills of -13 degrees are expected in the North End, but inside is going to be like a steam room. Not the type with naked old men sitting around in it, fortunately.
This morning, two steam moves from sharp books have been placed on the Timberwolves. One came from Buckeye, a pro credit book, at +4 while the other came from CRIS (Bookmaker) at +3.5 a few hours later. It should also be noted that Minnesota is getting just 24% of spread bets.
As a result, the Wolves have moved to +3 across the market.
At 24-15, the Wolves have the fourth-best record in the West, but their success hasn’t translated to the betting world. They sit at a rather pedestrian 18-20-1 ATS, while the Celtics still hold the league’s top mark at 25-14-2 following a big win and cover over the Cavs.
This past month has been the Jimmy Butler Show, starring Jimmy Butler as himself. In October and November, he averaged less than 18 points per game with his new squad, but since the beginning of December, he’s averaged nearly 27 points per game. In doing so, he’s been able to crush in DFS on a nightly basis.
Per Fantasy Labs, he’s exceed his salary-based expectations 88% of the time by an average of more than 7 DK points since December 1st.
Will Jimmy crack corn tonight or will Boston hold down the fort with their second consecutive big win at home?
