Elite Eight Opening Line Report: Part 2
All four Elite Eight matchups are now set for the weekend with Louisville and Florida tipping off at 4:30 pm ET, followed by Ohio State and Syracuse at 7:10 pm ET. With a trip to the Final Four on the line, we will take a look odds and trends for Sunday’s match-ups in Part 2 of the Elite Eight opening line report.
TEAM | BETTING % | OPEN | CURRENT | NOTES |
(1) UNC | 44% | 2 | 2 | Both teams barely survived their Sweet 16 games, but #2 seed Kansas opened up as a 2-point favorite over the UNC, the 1-seed in the region, mostly due to the unfortunate wrist injury to UNC PG Kendall Marshall. The Jayhawks are receiving the slight majority of spread bets as the line has stayed steady, but any change to Marshall’s status will effect both the odds and betting trends. |
(2) Kansas | 56% | -2 | -2 | |
(3) Baylor | 31% | 7.5 | 7.5 | Kentucky, the tourney’s overall top seed, opened as 7.5-point favorite over the 3-seed in the South, Baylor. Kentucky struggled mightily ATS early in the year, and is just 2-4 ATS in postseason play, although this has not deterred bettors as roughly 70% of the public is on the Wildcats to cover. |
(1) Kentucky | 69% | -7.5 | -7.5 |
