Large NBA Slate Filled With Lopsided Games
Last night, we had one depressing NBA game between the Bulls and Lakers.
Tonight, we have almost a full slate of basketball with 14 games set to take place. That’s more like it. With so many games on the board, the public has plenty of options to load up on and trust me, they’ve done just that.
Of the 14 games, seven currently feature a team getting more than 70% of bets, highlighted by the red hot Celtics. However, the line isn’t moving towards all of those teams. In fact, a few of these games feature line freezes or reverse line movement…also highlighted by the Celtics.
Since opening at -3 at Pinnacle yesterday, there have been seven separate steam or reverse line moves triggered on the Heat around the market. Now, the Celtics are just a mere two-point favorite in Miami. This is also the most heavily bet game by a landslide.
The Lakers/Kings game is not quite as lopsided, but it also features reverse line movement. LA opened as a one point favorite and is now a one point dog against a Kings team that is just 5-10-2 ATS this season.
A monkey wrench was just thrown the Bucks’ way when I was about half way done with this article. The Greek Freak will not be playing and the Bucks have since moved from -6 to -1. This is right in line with Antetokounmpo’s “Tier 1” value of five points to the spread.
One more game I want to touch on is the Mavericks/Grizzlies. Dallas somehow found a way to not cover the other night against the Celtics despite going to overtime, building on their league worst 4-13-1 ATS record. Even though they are getting right around 20% of bets, the line remains at Memphis -5.5 where it opened.
Check the latest lines and percentages to see which games you want to go contrarian in.
