Monday Night Countdown: Redskins at Eagles
Through six weeks, your NFL MVP favorite is…Carson Wentz! He hopes to lead his Eagles to a league best 6-1 record tonight at home in a divisional matchup against Kirk Cousins and the Redskins.
Though this game isn’t around any key numbers, there has been some decent line movement in the past 36 hours.
This line has kind of been all over the place ever since it opened, but even more so the past two days. This morning, the Eagles could have been had at -4, but the line has steadily moved back in their favor. Just about a half hour ago, Philly hit -5.5 at Bookmaker for the first time all week. If you look at the green line on the graph (representing spread dollars), you’ll notice that there has been a recent uptick in the past 24 hours.
As of 3:30 PM eastern, the Eagles are getting just about 60% of both bets and dollars. There likely hasn’t been a ton of sharp money coming in at -5, as books would have moved the line to the more important number of -6. There was some clear love for Philly at -4 and -4.5, but it doesn’t take a ton for books to move a line between four and five, as they aren’t frequent outcomes.
This game was also one that was featured in our most recent ESPN Chalk article due to the high winds. In games with a total of 44 or higher and 10+ MPH wind, the under has hit at nearly a 60% rate. Winds tonight are expected to be around 14 MPH and the total currently sits at a lofty 49.
