Odds on Next Head Coach at Ole Miss
On Thursday, July 20th, Ole Miss head football coach Hugh Freeze unexpectedly resigned amid a texting scandal. Freeze was very successful in his time at Ole Miss, compiling a 39-25 record SU and 36-27 record ATS. He went 3-1 SU and ATS in bowl games, and was 4-1 ATS against Alabama. He also went 7-0 ATS when his teams closed with less than 30% of tickets. However, Ole Miss will now be looking for a new permanent head coach.
BetOnline recently posted odds on his permanent replacement, and the front-runners are SMU HC Chad Morris (+300) and Dallas Cowboys WR Coach Derek Dooley (+500). Here’s a look at the potential candidates:
There are some interesting names on the list including Les Miles (+800), Chip Kelly (+1400), Lane Kiffin (+1600) and Charlie Strong (+1600). Do you see anyone listed providing value right now?
