There is a lot of action in the sports marketplace today. Here’s a sampling of some of the games our team of analysts is keying in on today — in our quest for value and contrarian “betting against the public” plays:
- In MLB, the most lopsided-bet game (and heaviest-bet game!) of the day is the Braves-Phillies game. The Phillies and Halladay are gathering an overwhelming percentage of the bets. We like the combination of heavy betting action and lopsidedness — and see some value on Atlanta.
- In NBA action, the LeBron James and the Miami Heat are starting to attract attention. A lot of fans are starting to jump on the heavily-hyped Heat bandwagon. Meanwhile, Derek Rose and the Bulls are quietly winning, but public sentiment remains on Miami. Visit SportsInsights to see if we have a play in the NBA.
- Today’s NHL game between San Jose and Vancouver has betting split down the middle — even with Vancouver being a -160 favorite at home.
