Weekend Sports Update
01/14/2012
There are some great NFL playoff match-ups this weekend! Members can log-in and see if any of our strategies trigger a play. In addition, please check out our NFL Power Rankings which performed well ATS last season. Our analysts circled some of the NFL playoff games, and here are some quick notes:
- In today’s game, the New Orleans Saints have about 64% of the bets. This is not surprising based on their explosive offense. New Orleans is rated #1 in our power rankings, but SF and their top-notch defense isn’t far behind at #3. This should be a great game and it pits strength (Saints’ O) against strength (49ers’ D).
- We were surprised to see betting evenly-split (about 50/50) in the Denver-New England game. This is a function of sports fans jumping on the Broncos-Tebow bandwagon — as well as the Broncos defense impressing many — and the huge point spread of two touchdowns.
- Sports Insights’ team was particularly surprised at sports fans jumping on the Giants’ bandwagon and NOT betting on the Green Bay Packers after the Packers’ great season. With almost two-thirds of the bets landing on the Giants, the line has decreased from GB -10.5 to -8.
In the NHL, on Saturday, Colorado and Minnesota look like potential value plays based on methods mentioned in several of our articles and blog posts.
