Weekend Sports Update
With the baseball season over, and with the NBA postponing the start of their season, football and hockey are the only games in town. In fact, the NHL is the only major US sport with almost daily activity!
During October, the Sports Investing Index has included action from college and professional football, the NHL and MLB. The Index continues to struggle, with contrarian methods in college football leading the way down about -5.4% for the Index — near the end of the October.
On a busy Saturday in college football, let’s scan the boards to see some highlights:
- At the time of this writing, the most lopsided-bet game of the day is currently Minnesota U versus Iowa, with Minnesota receiving just 10% of point spread bets and 7% of teasers and parlays. Please visit Sports Insights to see if any of our systems trigger a play.
- The heaviest-bet game of the day is currently Stanford vs. USC. The rivalry between former powerhouse USC (currently ranked # 20), and the “new kid in town” Stanford, ranked a hefty #4 in the nation, is gathering a lot of interest. This game is showing some lopsided betting action as well. Keep your browser pointed to SportsInsights.com for the latest betting odds and sports gambling info.
Stay tuned for our latest NFL Marketwatch column, which will be published shortly. The NFL Marketwatch has a long-term performance record of about 57% over almost seven years of picks.
